Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is Understanding the medic experiences of male nursing students who volunteer for medic in depth by examining the essence of medic experiences.

Methods: This paper uses Colaizzi (1978)¡¯s phenomenological method, which is a qualitative research method to investigate the essence of the medic experiences.

Results: The results of analyzing the significance of the medic experiences can be categorized into 38 themes, 18 theme clusters, 7 categories. The 7 categories are ¡®Volunteering for the future¡¯, ¡®Finding the task is too much for physically¡¯, ¡®Undergo inner struggle¡¯, ¡®Learning through experiences¡¯, ¡®Adapting oneself to the situation¡¯, ¡®Gaining recognition from group Gainp¡¯ and ¡®Becoming mature¡¯.

Conclusion: Based on an in-depth comprehension about the medic experiences of male nursing students, this paper helps to guide male nursing students who are due for joining the army and provide baseline data of the nursing education resource.
